BioPoly

BioPoly presents an alternative to extreme surgical treatments for cartilage defects. These state-of-the-art treatments have been developed to aid people suffering from life-inhibiting pain. However, not all patients—many, in fact—are not good candidates for the biological treatments and artificial replacements. For these patients, BioPoly presents an alternative. The BioPoly™ ReSurfacing devices provide the option for those neither able to receive effective biological treatments nor in need of a total replacement. The patented, self-lubricating material, BioPoly™ ReSurfacing devices are designed to replace only the affected area of the cartilage. The less invasive procedure allows for a shorter recovery time.

The Challenge

BioPoly™ ReSurfacing devices represent a major breakthrough in the treatment of cartilage damage, and BioPoly chose Aptera to help spread word of this revolutionary new technology. BioPoly™ RS devices are an alternative to invasive joint-adjustment or artificial implant procedures. Made from self-lubricating material used to replace only damaged cartilage, BioPoly™ RS devices allow patients to recover quickly and return to active lifestyles. BioPoly wanted Aptera to create a website with the ultimate goal of reaching patients whose lives could be drastically improved. But to accomplish this goal, the message first had to be directed at surgeons and distributors, and the pages would have to steer various users to options appropriate to their needs.

The Solution

Aptera’s elite design team established a partnership with BioPoly to work out a shared vision for the website. The team would develop a homepage that immediately captures the attention of surgeons visiting the site by providing them a link to information about BioPoly training for procedures using their products. The technological details would be coupled with vivid images, so potential patients visiting the site wouldn’t be overwhelmed with medical and scientific jargon. To appeal to the various audiences, the homepage would feature separate links to both upcoming training schedules and basic information about BioPoly™ RS devices. And any technical terms would be followed by links to definitions, explanations, and illustrations.

The Results

BioPoly was delighted with Aptera’s approach to ensuring a shared vision for the website. The design was based on extensive consultations with BioPoly staff, who were subsequently given opportunities to assess and revise several drafts of the design blueprint. The site encourages users to explore BioPoly’s products and training schedules, and the pages easily guide visitors to BioPoly’s contact information. Whether visitors are doctors, distributors, or prospective patients, they can find the pages they need in no more than one or two clicks. BioPoly is immensely pleased with how the site turned out, and they are looking forward to working with Aptera on future projects.
